Lo Ka Fai led throughout the ATCS Division 2 race held as part of the CTM Cup at the 50th Macau Grand Prix, despite losing out off the start to a fast charging Ao Chi Hong.

Once Lo regained the lead going into Lisboa for the first time there was no looking back. “I am very happy with this win, my car had an engine problem and I had to nurse the car for the entire race.”

Despite being passed on the line by his brother Lo Ka Chun for overall honours, Ka Fai was still happy to make it a family affair, which was rounded off by his father Lo Hung Pui setting fastest lap.

Japanese driver Junichi Koizumi finished in second and was elated with his result. He said, “I enjoyed the Guia circuit much more this year than last and even though some difficulties with my car prevented me from pushing as hard as I would have liked, I am very happy with the result and can’t wait to come back next year.”

Fellow Japanese driver Seijiro Sawa made a very strong start and was challenging hard in the early stages but dropped back gradually to finish an eventual third after the safety car was brought out following an incident which partially blocked the circuit. “After the safety car period I experienced an engine problem and could not maintain my race pace. I am looking forward to next year and am seriously considering running in Division 1. My team has been doing lots of studying on engines this year and we intend to use this knowledge to try to win the championship next year, he commented.”
